Word of the Week – Stretch

Each Friday, I would like to share a word of the week with you. Something that summarises what I’ve been up to, how I’ve felt and how life is generally going. I’d love if you’d share your own in the comments or even join in with the link up if you are a blogger. (You can find the details at the bottom of this post.) It can be so therapeutic to reflect on what’s been happening, good or bad. It will be nice to look back on these posts in the future too!

This week I have chosen the word Stretch

With each day that has passed this week, I have felt more and more stretched. My bump is growing so quickly now and by the feel of things, so is the baby inside!

I feel like I need to add a brief apology here. I realise I have been speaking about my pregnancy non stop over the last month or so. Some of you will love the baby chat, others will be rolling their eyes at another post about the size of my belly. If you’re a bit bored, I’m so sorry. That said, it’s not changing any time soon!

A couple of weeks ago I was sitting worrying about the lack of movements I was feeling. Was the midwife sure I was pregnant, because baby wasn’t making themselves known to me. Well, they are now. The last day or so in particular, I feel like I’ve gone from squidgy belly to being ALL baby. I’d complain about the discomfort I’m experiencing, but I’m honestly just so pleased to be experience this insane transformation. My due date is in four months and my excitement is building with every week that passes!

I’ve been stretching in other areas of life too. In particular, my comfort zone. You may have heard me talk about my small business Pippin Prints before. I love the behind the scenes design work and shop maintenance that goes into it, but anything more interactive such as videos terrifies me.

Well guess what feature Etsy recently added? Videos of course. After ignoring the feature for a while I took a deep breath and give it a go. I’m not even in the video for goodness sake, it’s just my hands. All the same, I’m proud that I’ve crossed this hurdle and given myself a little bit more confidence in what I do.

My comfort zone has been stretched eeeeeven further on Instagram. I’ve added my own face to my account for Sunshine and Rain. My own face. Can you believe it? Understandably not a big deal for most, but for some reason I was really nervous about it. If we don’t already follow each other you can find me here. Come and say hello!

Emma x

Feeling the movements is so exciting. It can get a bit uncomfortable espcially closer to your due date but it’s worth all the discomfort.

Thanks Kim, I know I’ll be glad to have documented it all when I read back in years to come! I’ve had a wee bit of discomfort already, but it’s hard to be mad about it when I know it comes from the baby growing and moving around 🙂 #WotW
