I’m a creature of comforts. Blankets, jumpers, soft PJs, a good cuppa; I love them all. So I thought it would be fun to begin a weekly post called Sunday Comforts. Every Sunday I will share a little snippet of something that makes my heart happy. It can be so therapeutic, especially on bad days, to take a moment to reflect on the small things in life that make you smile.
Sunday Comforts – A Roast Dinner
Is there anything more typical on a Sunday (or more British) than a roast dinner? It’s a classic lazy day, relax before the work week starts again sort of meal and it brings me so much comfort. Whether it’s at the local pub, made at home or cooked from scratch by my mum, it’s just the best sort of meal.
After a busy week and an even busier weekend celebrating my other half’s birthday we went for a long walk today with my parents and the dogs and then enjoyed a roast at our local. Roast beef, a bit of ham, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, veggies, the lot!
I’m now stuffed to the brim and curled up on the sofa with a cup of tea…”working it off”. I find an afternoon snooze tends to do the trick for me.
