Word of the Week – Work

Each Friday, I would like to share a word of the week with you. Something that summarises what I’ve been up to, how I’ve felt and how life is generally going. I’d love if you’d share one in the comments. It can be so therapeutic to reflect on what’s been happening, good or bad!

This week I have chosen the word Work

Unfortunately this week my word is a bit on the boring side. It has been non-stop work from Monday until…well later today when I hopefully finally get finished. A couple of months ago I started working with a new client. (If you haven’t read previous posts about what I do, I freelance in architectural drawing). This client relies on me for all of his drawing, as does one other. As a result I now receive a minimum of two or three projects a week, plus the occasional extra. Add in my blogging time and my week is PACKED.

I absolutely cannot complain of course. I’m self-employed and a busy week is a good week. I also thankfully really enjoy the work I do. Even a stressful week isn’t necessarily a bad one, despite being shattered at the end of it.

I’m also grateful for the work load because December is always a very quiet month for me work wise. It’s also very expensive thanks to all the gifts and lots of nights out. Not something I’d ever complain about of course, I love Christmas! It’s just always better to prepare for it in advance.

Next week will be much more enjoyable as we’re off to North Yorkshire with the family for five days for my Mother in Law’s birthday. We’ve hired a big cottage and will be spending our time eating, drinking (responsibly around the kids) and relaxing together. I can’t wait!

So there it is, my word of the week and a summary of the past seven days.
