Sunday Comforts - roast dinner

Sunday Comforts | Weekend Coffee

I’m a creature of comforts. Blankets, jumpers, soft PJs, a good cuppa; I love them all. So I thought it would be fun to begin a weekly post called Sunday Comforts. Every Sunday I will share a little snippet of something that makes my heart happy. It can be so therapeutic, especially on bad days, to take a moment to reflect on the small things in life that make you smile.

Sunday Comforts – Weekend Coffee

Weekend coffee. Yes, it is different to regular coffee.

The sort of coffee that you look forward to drinking and then you sit and enjoy. It’s not the same as a midweek coffee, when you’re running around and trying your best to finish your impossibly long to-do list. You’re not drinking this coffee because you require it to stay awake long enough to finish the day. You drink it because you want to. You drink it to savour the taste.

This morning I was treated to a gingerbread coffee. That made my whole Sunday. It is pouring with rain outside. For this first time since April I have had to close the windows to keep the breeze out. It actually feels cold. Holding that coffee this morning made me feel toasty again. It genuinely brought me happiness.

What’s better? I’ve just found out that a certain coffee chain will be serving their seasonal pumpkin spiced latte in just two days time, before September even begins. Guess where I’m taking a quick trip to on Tuesday…

Take a moment this weekend to sit down with nothing but a hot cuppa and enjoy it. You will thank me later, I promise.

Is there something you would like me to cover on a future Sunday? Let me know in the comments!

So very true! I work weekends, but when I get days off I always make the effort to savour my coffee on one of the days. I love a good trip to a cafe with a book, it’s so relaxing.

It’s the small things isn’t Megan 🙂 Tempted to head to the coffee shop with a book tomorrow when I’m all caught up with work!

Thank you so much Amy! I wasn’t too sure if I was mostly just speaking to myself with this series so that really means a lot 🙂 Looking forward to writing one this Sunday now!
