Word of the Week – Houses

Each Friday, I would like to share a word of the week with you. Something that summarises what I’ve been up to, how I’ve felt and how life is generally going. I’d love if you’d share one in the comments. It can be so therapeutic to reflect on what’s been happening, good or bad!

This week I have chosen the word houses

Houses? Do you have more than one Emma? No, I’m not quite that lucky. I have spent a lot of time looking at them this week though.

Oh, so you’re planning on moving soon then? …nope.

Confession time. I have bookmarked a house that is a million miles outside of the realms of possibility for us, but I love it so much. It’s beautiful. A Georgian villa filled with character. Big tall windows that flood the rooms with light, countless fireplaces perfect for cosy nights in and a huge garden that would be an incredible space for our family when we are lucky enough to have one.

Does anyone else do this? Sit and admire beautiful houses that are wildly outside your price bracket.

I feel really silly telling you about it as it will likely never be a possible home for us. What’s the point in daydreaming about something that will never happen right? That’s the attitude that the majority of my friends and family tend to have, but I know a couple of you will happily join me up on cloud nine for a little daydream.

On a more down to earth note, some of our closest friends have just received the keys for their first home today. I may not be moving to pastures new, but I can certainly help them celebrate!

So there it is, my word of the week and a summary of the past seven days.
