I’m a creature of comforts. Blankets, jumpers, soft PJs, a good cuppa; I love them all. So I thought it would be fun to begin a weekly post called Sunday Comforts. Every Sunday I will share a little snippet of something that makes my heart happy. It can be so therapeutic, especially on bad days, to take a moment to reflect on the small things in life that make you smile.

Sunday Comforts – Thunder Storms

This week’s Sunday comforts is one that a lot of you will be able to relate to. Thunder storms! After several weeks of roasting weather the skies erupted over the UK last night and a lot of us were hit with heavy rain as huge forks of lightning lit up the sky. The poor animals were no doubt terrified, but it was so refreshing to see a change in weather!

We had been out as a family for a birthday dinner and got caught in the first downpour on the way back to the car. Thankfully it has been so hot it didn’t take us long to dry off.

I’m the sort of person that is put to sleep by the noise of heavy rain so this is a favourite Sunday Comfort for me. As I fell asleep last night I watched the rain fall under the street lamps and I was out like a light in minutes!

Of course, I do hope that no one has been badly affected by the weather. Whilst I see it as a positive I understand that this might not be the case for others.

Is there something you would like me to cover on a future Sunday? Let me know in the comments!
