As we pass the half way mark for 2018 (how on earth does time pass so quickly?) I wanted to sit down and think about the goals I would like to set for the next month. Nothing over the top. Just a few small things to guide my personal development along and make me a healthier and happier person.
Here are my goals for July 2018:
- Lose a couple of pounds. As it is summer this is a pretty predictable thing to aim for, but the real reason I want to lose a small amount of weight is because I’m getting married next May (eek!) Slow and steady wins the race. I’m taking a healthy approach and doing it bit by bit, for my health just as much as the way I feel in my dress. Of course I would like to add here that this is NOT a requirement for every bride. There is a lot of stigma around weight and weddings and it can be quite scary. The single most important thing about your wedding day is that you are happy!
- Spend more time on hobbies. I’m constantly daydreaming about spending my days painting and drawing beautiful things. The reality is that the only drawing I actually do is on my laptop and it’s always of house extensions! I know I’ve got the time to do it, so it’s entirely achievable. I just need to prioritise my time a little better, giving me opportunity to do things I love.
- Spend more time in the garden with friends and family. Although we have done a fair amount of this so far this year already as we’ve been blessed with some glorious weather here in the UK, I’d like to do more. Whether it’s a quick drink or a BBQ that lasts all evening, it’s healthy and it makes me happy!
There we are. Starting off nice and slowly.
I’ll make sure to keep you updated with my progress!
